- A Travel Writer of International Bestseller, 'Longue Marche'
He walked 12,000Km for 4 years from Paris to Compostelle and from Istanbul to Xian after he has retired at the age of 60 years. He learned how to rid himself of greed slowly through sharing a friendship with people who even don't speak same language. With the royalty of his bestseller, 'Longue Marche', he established Association Seuil. Since then, he has assisted juveniles delinquent and the retired elderly in need through trekking. He believes that they need to be rehabilitated and not alienated from the society.

In that lecture, he delivered us his personal experience that overcame depression with trekking. Also, he shared us young people’s story who have started to find the worth of life and to respect others through trekking.

Thank you again for all your brilliant organisation and hard work in hosting such a successful conference. I really gained a lot from the experience. It was great to meet so many people from Korea and all over the world and to share knowledge and passion for trails. I thoroughly enjoyed getting to know some Koreans and learning more about your history and culture. I am very grateful for the opportunity to attend the conference and the sponsorship from the Jeju Olle Foundation. I have been in contact with Julie and look forward to the progress of the world trail network.

I would like to take this opportunity to thank you personally for inviting me to the 2012 World Trail Conference. It was a fantastic event, both in the information sent our prior and the organisation of the actual conference itself. I feel priviliged to have been invited to take part, and it was great to meet so many like minded Trail officers from around the world to discuss there work/roles and learn about their Trails. It’s amazing how much we all have in common and issues we face in the management of our routes even though we come from many different countries. It was also really good to take part in the Jeju Olle walking festival, again what a highly organised event and brilliant routes, something i will treasure and remember. I look forward to working with yourselves and the other Trail officers now to move forward the World Trail Network and am keen to take an active part in the committee, and share the knowledge we have here in England and Wales of our National Trails. I am reporting back to the other Trail officers for england and wales next week, so would be good to have the objectives that have been set for the world trail network so far.
